Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans to maximize independence in occupational performance areas. Implement advanced occupational therapy treatments, monitor progress, and adjust goals based on periodic assessments. Supervise assistants and support staff while serving as a clinical mentor to students, volunteers, and community members. Document findings accurately in medical records and communicate effectively with physicians, insurance companies, and caregivers. Identify needs for new departmental programs and lead strategic planning initiatives, committees, and taskforces. Assist with departmental budgets, policies, and marketing efforts to advance clinical excellence and community health.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or graduate degree in occupational therapy from an accredited university-based occupational therapy program
- Current License to practice Occupational Therapy by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners
- Current Certification in Basic Life Support
- At least five (5) years of clinical experience or four ( 4) years of clinical experience, with the completion of an accredited residency or fellowship program
- The ability to lift up to 75-100 pounds and carry up to 30 pounds
- Fine hand dexterity
- Eye-hand coordination
- The ability to receive oral and written communication
- The ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- The visual ability to monitor instruments, computers and equipment
- The ability to recognize alphanumeric characters
- The ability to distinguish colors
- The ability to observe physical characteristics
