Job Summary
Assess clients and design occupational therapy treatments to help them develop, maintain, and recover abilities for daily life. Conduct evaluations of physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial abilities; establish realistic therapy goals and administer appropriate programs. Document evaluation information, establish therapeutic plans, and modify them as necessary. Provide education to enhance understanding and improve functional outcomes while incorporating current research into daily treatment. May supervise assistants, aides, and students, and participate in department activities. Work includes interacting with providers, case managers, family members, and third-party payers. Schedule is day shifts with 40 weekly hours.
Required Qualifications
- Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure
- Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Occupational Therapist
- Must also be certified through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Valid driver's license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
- Exhibits flexibility with acceptance of variable work schedules/assignments
