Job Summary
Conduct thorough initial assessments and establish physician-prescribed plans of care for patients, utilizing diagnostic tests for musculoskeletal, nerve, and functional abilities. Implement treatment programs including ADL training, therapeutic exercise, and cognitive activities while educating patients and families on adaptive devices and rehabilitation goals. Reassess patient status to restore function and adapt care plans to maximize independence. Document evaluations, daily treatments, and discharge summaries accurately within NetHealth and PointClickCare. Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, aides, and students as permitted by New York State licensure. Participate actively in multidisciplinary meetings and discharge planning. Requires valid New Jersey OTR license, BS or MS degree, and full-time status.
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- Valid and current New jersey State Occupational Therapy license
- Registration with the National Board Certification for Occupational Therapy
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and caretakers regarding anticipated Occupational Therapy treatment plan, level of expected patient participation, and expected outcome
