Job Summary
Provide outpatient rehabilitation services in home settings for older adults, evaluating patients through history, systems review, and appropriate tests to establish diagnoses and impairment levels. Design and implement occupational therapy treatment plans that address cognitive skills, mobility, balance, and activities of daily living, while instructing patients in adaptive device use and functional activities. Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, students, and support personnel; consult with physicians to select therapeutic regimens; and manage referrals to other disciplines. Ensure adherence to treatment schedules, complete clinical and billing documentation, and maintain a safe environment by identifying hazards and reporting equipment needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards
- initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice
- valid driver's license or reliable, independent transportation to and from the patient's residence
