Job Summary
Provide occupational therapy services to adults with physical disabilities in the Newcastle area, performing comprehensive assessments, managing a full caseload, and coordinating equipment provision and home/environmental adaptations. Responsibilities include advising health and social care professionals, liaising with contractors for major adaptations, advising on re-housing where adaptations are unsuitable, maintaining accurate records on Carefirst, supervising OT students and contributing to in-house training, and keeping up-to-date with legislation and best practice to promote equality and service quality.
Required Qualifications
- HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
- Experience working with adults with physical disabilities
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation (Care Act, Mental Capacity Act)
- Excellent communication and assessment skills
- Commitment to CPD and service improvement
