Job Summary
Assess patient functional abilities, develop personalized treatment plans, and administer clinical occupational therapy services to improve mobility, strength, and coordination. Interpret medical prescriptions, adjust treatments based on patient response, and maintain accurate records for reimbursement and regulatory compliance. Provide patient and family education, participate in care conferences, and direct certified occupational therapy assistants and students. Make appropriate referrals for post-discharge placement and interface with vendors for durable medical equipment. Work on an as-needed per diem basis with hours assigned by the manager, earning $37.00 to $55.50 per hour depending on experience. This role is located at UHS Wilson Medical Center or Binghamton General Hospital in Johnson City and Binghamton, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of occupational therapy, receiving applicable degree or certificate in occupational therapy course of study, with Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Possession of a NYS license or eligibility to be licensed as an occupational therapist
- CPR certification within first 3 months of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Clinical experience in a hospital-based setting
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Certified
