Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in outpatient settings by applying occupational therapy treatment and therapeutic procedures to meet patient needs and physician orders. Effectively apply all occupational therapeutic techniques appropriate to patient needs, complete required documentation, assist in scheduling, and attend interdisciplinary rounds or committee meetings as assigned. Maintain unit-specific competencies, mandatory learning, and clinical certifications per department policy. Demonstrate competence to provide occupational rehabilitation services through education, training, and experience, with a preference for Certified Hand Therapist status or substantial hand therapy experience.
Required Qualifications
- Position requires a degree in Occupational Therapy
- Active Maryland License - Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy
- Must demonstrate competence to provide occupational rehabilitation services by reason of education, training, and experience
- Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Demonstrated computer skills needed for completion of computerized medical records, billing records, and various other computerized tasks
- Required to lift and or move more than 100 pounds
- frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred
- candidates with substantial hand therapy experience will also be considered
- New graduates with clinical rotations in an outpatient setting will be considered
