Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for pediatric clients in East York and Scarborough, focusing on functional abilities, home environments, and safety risks. Develop and implement individualized intervention plans aligned with client-centered goals, while recommending and training families on assistive devices, mobility aids, and energy conservation techniques. Facilitate short-term trials of home safety equipment and provide hands-on education to maintain client independence and reduce injury risks. Assist with Assistive Devices Program applications and navigate community resources, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care. Monitor progress, adjust intervention plans as needed, and maintain accurate clinical documentation through secure mobile systems.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
- Access to a reliable vehicle and valid driver's license
- Professional liability insurance
- Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check within 1 year of start with 1to1
- Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn
Desired Qualifications
- Two (2) years of Occupational Therapy experience preferred but not required
