Job Summary
Assess upper-extremity function, range of motion, strength, sensation, coordination, cognition, and ability to perform activities of daily living. Identify barriers to independent functioning after surgery or injury and select evidence-based interventions based on patient diagnosis and rehabilitation needs. Teach post-operative precautions, instruct patients in safe transfers and home safety, and provide caregiver training to ensure safe assistance after discharge. Work closely with orthopedic surgeons, physiatrists, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals to participate in discharge planning and communicate patient progress. Complete evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports, discharge summaries, and billing documentation while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and professional standards. Determine whether patients can safely return home or require inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or outpatient therapy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- two (2) years of experience in Occupational Therapy
- Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Certified by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- eligible to apply for the examination
- Current Arkansas Occupational Therapy License
- eligible to obtain license within one (1) month of date of hire
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States
- Annual TB Screening
- Criminal Background Check
- Substance Abuse Testing
