Job Summary
Deliver bespoke occupational therapy assessment and intervention to pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergence, or SEMH needs while fostering their independence. Collaborate with the education team to hold an occupational therapy caseload, adhering to the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working and governing body standards. Work within a multidisciplinary clinical team to support pupils aged 11–19 in a specialist day school environment, utilizing sensory-informed practices where applicable. You will receive full support from a designated clinical supervisor and Lead Clinician, with opportunities for peer reflection and a £2000 CPD training allowance after probation. This role is based at Hillingdon Manor School, offering a permanent contract with a focus on person-centred approaches and safeguarding.
Required Qualifications
- Bsc or Msc in Occupational Therapy
- Valid and up to date HCPC Registration
- Registered member of RCOT
- Sound knowledge and clinical understanding of OT theory and its practical application to support independence
- Ability to work independently, flexible and confidence working in a school environment
- Clear and concise report writing skills
- Previously engaged with people who are neurodivergent and/or experience learning difficulty and/or socio-emotional and mental health difficulties in any setting, being able to evidence transferrable skills
- Interest in sensory integration or sensory-informed practice (SI practitioner training in progress or completed is preferrable, however not essential)
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant experience in providing occupational therapy services within a similar setting
- Experience of multi-professional work with teams or services within the designated speciality
- SI practitioner training in progress or completed
