Job Summary

Conduct occupational therapy services for residents, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of therapeutic activities to support functional independence. Perform daily diagnostic imaging coverage and manage patient care while maintaining strict confidentiality. Collaborate effectively with medical staff, family, and other personnel to coordinate comprehensive care plans and recommend treatment programs. Maintain knowledge of Medicare and third-party reimbursement processes. This PRN role is located at 3355 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL, with shift differentials up to $2 an hour. Join a supportive, resident-centered rehab team undergoing facility renovation.

Required Qualifications

  • Successful completion of the academic requirements of an educational program in occupational therapy recognized by the Board of Occupational Therapy Practice. Such program shall be accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association's Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education, or its successor
  • Must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice as an occupational therapist in the state of Florida
  • Prior experience in Occupational Therapy
  • Member of state and national American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Proficient administrative and public relations skills
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, materials and equipment used in occupational therapy
  • Thorough knowledge of the possible hazards to patients during treatment and necessary precautionary and remedial measures
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and to obtain their cooperation in the treatment prescribed
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the medical staff and other personnel
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and adopt a physician's written or oral directions and to recommend treatment programs and outline expected benefits regarding occupational therapy
  • Demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with the demands of both patients and employees
  • Must maintain patient and employee confidentiality
  • Florida AHCA Clearinghouse background screening

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Medicare and third party reimbursement, preferred
