Job Summary
Implement developmentally based interventions to improve safety and independence for students aged 3–21 with physical, behavioral, and developmental challenges. Deliver specialized individual and group occupational therapy instruction mandated in Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), while assessing progress through formal and informal measurements. Initiate new program development focusing on functional outcomes and consult with teachers, SLPs, and PTs to ensure cohesive team care. Provide parent education, attend IEP and annual review meetings, and supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants per state guidelines. Collect data for reports and billing, prepare annual reviews, and coordinate physician signatures for referrals.
Required Qualifications
- Appropriate State License
- NYSED Certification Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) OR Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD)
