Job Summary
Plan, develop, and direct occupational therapy services in accordance with facility rules and regulations. Review requests for therapy, interview residents to determine treatment needs, and select rehabilitative activities based on medical history. Administer therapy services via telehealth or in resident rooms, supervise occupational therapy assistants, and maintain accurate treatment records and billing. Participate in discharge planning, resident assessments, and quarterly care plan reviews while ensuring compliance with safety standards and infection control protocols. Honor resident rights, report grievances, and maintain clear communication with medical staff and families.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in this state
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Knowledge of occupational therapy procedures
- Leadership and supervisory ability
- Willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the occupational therapy service
- Ability to communicate information concerning a resident's condition
- Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately
- General health requirements set forth by the policies of the Facility
- Minimum of 5 pounds and maximum of 45 pounds lifting, periodically and or as needed
