Job Summary
Conduct outpatient occupational therapy services in patients' private residences or independent living facilities, evaluating and treating the older adult population to restore functional performance. Screen, examine, and evaluate patients to establish diagnoses, identify impairments, and design individualized treatment plans addressing cognitive skills, mobility, balance, and activities of daily living. Implement therapeutic techniques, instruct patients in adaptive device usage, and supervise OTAs, students, and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements. Maintain timely clinical documentation, adhere to department schedules, and consult with the rehabilitation team to address comprehensive patient needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards
- initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice
- valid driver's license or reliable, independent transportation to and from the patient's residence
