Job Summary
Conduct outpatient occupational therapy services in home and independent living facility settings for older adults. Evaluate patients through history, systems review, and standardized tests to establish diagnoses, identify impairments, and design treatment plans addressing cognitive skills, mobility, balance, and activities of daily living. Implement therapeutic techniques including adaptive device fabrication, falls risk management, and medication coordination while supervising therapy assistants and students. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to modify care plans and ensure patient safety by identifying environmental hazards. Maintain accurate clinical and billing documentation, manage equipment maintenance, and facilitate referrals to address comprehensive patient needs within a flexible schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards
- initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice
- valid driver's license or reliable, independent transportation to and from the patient's residence
