Job Summary
Provide outpatient rehabilitation services in-home for the older adult population, evaluating patients through history, systems review, and appropriate tests to establish diagnoses and design treatment plans. Conduct occupational therapy programs that restore, reinforce, and enhance performance by addressing cognitive skills, mobility, balance, and activities of daily living while adapting plans to individual patient needs. Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements. Manage clinical and billing documentation, attend staffing conferences, make referrals to other disciplines, and consult with community physicians to select therapeutic regimens. Order supplies, maintain equipment, and enforce safety protocols to ensure a hazard-free environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards
- initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice
- valid driver's license or reliable, independent transportation to and from the patient's residence
