Job Summary
Conduct outpatient occupational therapy services in home and independent living facility settings, evaluating patients through history, systems review, and standardized tests to establish diagnoses and adaptive device needs. Design and implement treatment plans addressing cognitive skills, mobility, balance, and activities of daily living while facilitating patient participation in functional tasks. Supervise therapy assistants and students, coordinate referrals with physicians, and maintain accurate clinical and billing documentation. Ensure patient safety by enforcing hazard elimination and managing equipment maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards
- initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- a valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice
- a valid driver's license or reliable, independent transportation to and from the patient's residence
