Job Summary
Evaluate and treat older adults in private residences or independent living facilities, conducting occupational therapy programs to restore functional performance and correct pathology. Screen, examine, and evaluate patients using appropriate tests to establish diagnoses, identify impairments, and design individualized treatment plans covering mobility, balance, and activities of daily living. Direct patient participation in selected tasks, instruct on adaptive device use, and modify plans based on progress. Supervise OTAs, students, and support personnel while ensuring adherence to clinical documentation, safety protocols, and department schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards
- initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- a valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice
- a valid driver's license or reliable, independent transportation to and from the patient's residence
