Job Summary
Provide occupational therapy to patients unable to perform daily tasks due to illness or injury, working within a 1:1 therapist-to-patient ratio. Assess patient deficits, establish therapy goals, and document progress while assisting with exercises to improve fine motor skills and coordination. Suggest adaptive equipment like grab bars and shower chairs, evaluate fall risks, and introduce strategies to improve home safety. Educate patients and families on the plan of care, exercises, and self-care techniques. Collaborate with a home health team including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and PTs to focus on the patient's plan of care and personal goals. Maintain active OT licensure in CA and CPR certification while adhering to state and federal home health regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program
- Active OT license in CA
- Minimum of 1 year of occupational therapy experience
- CPR certification
- Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations
- Good clinical judgement
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Resourceful
- Compassionate
