Job Summary
Provide home-based occupational therapy services to patients of all ages, focusing on developing, recovering, and maintaining daily living and work skills. Conduct one-on-one sessions to improve basic motor functions, reasoning abilities, and activities such as dressing, cooking, and eating. Incorporate physical exercises to increase strength and dexterity while instructing patients with permanent disabilities in adaptive equipment use. Assess home environments for hazards, recommend safety adaptations, and design or fabricate special equipment as needed. Prepare progress reports and provide guidance to family members and caregivers on effective care methods. Maintain current OT license and federal/state credentials while performing assigned duties in the home setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited OT program
- Current OT license, in good standing with the State licensing board
- Minimum of one (1) year OT experience, in corresponding setting
- Federal and State required credentials current and on file
- Cognitive skills as related to the position
