Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive specialist assessments for children and young people with suspected autism and/or ADHD, including face-to-face structured observations and remote developmental history interviews via Zoom. Participate in multi-disciplinary team diagnostic discussions, deliver clear feedback to families, and produce accurate clinical reports with diagnostic formulations using smart reporting tools. Manage caseloads to meet service KPIs and provide clinical supervision to junior staff where applicable. Work in a hybrid clinic-based setting with a minimum of one to two days in the Norwich office base.
Required Qualifications
- HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
- Minimum of 1 year experience conducting diagnostic neurodevelopmental/specialist developmental assessments with children and young people OR adults
- Experience with assessment tools for autism and/or ADHD
- Must have worked within a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) conducting assessments - NOT worked alone
- Willing to conduct assessments for BOTH autism AND ADHD
- Willing to be trained in either area if lacking experience in one
- Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for autism and ADHD
- Knowledge of differential diagnosis in neurodevelopmental presentations
- Experience working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders or mental health difficulties in a clinical setting
- Effective time management and caseload organisation skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in report writing and record keeping
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
- Attending the Norwich clinic base for in-person assessments (minimum 1-2 days per week)
Desired Qualifications
- Trained and experienced in the use of ADOS-2 and ADI-R
- Additional qualifications in relevant areas of autism and/or ADHD
