Job Summary
Interpret physician referrals to establish and exercise treatment programs, assisting in evaluating disability and injury while observing and reporting patient reactions to therapy. Direct, supervise, and provide occupational therapy services to patients across all age groups, instructing and teaching them on procedures while treating families with respect. Submit written progress reports at designated intervals and assist in determining patient needs to develop total care plans. May supervise OT assistants, aides, volunteers, or students, and complete timely clinical and administrative documentation. Adhere to safety, courtesy, quality, and efficiency standards while meeting productivity expectations and attending required meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Licensed or license pending in the State of Illinois without previous disciplinary action in Illinois or other states
- Current CPR card
- Illinois licensed/licensed eligible as an Occupational Therapist
- Certified in CPR or complete certification within 30 days of employment
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task effectively
- Specific vision abilities include close, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to work professionally, effectively, and efficiently in a team environment with customers, management, co-workers and physicians
- Willing to be educated further to complete CEU requirements
- Requires moderately heavy physical exertion on a regular and reoccurring basis such as assisting patients in transfer activities (wheelchair to bed, to tub, to commodes) and providing substantial support to individuals in ambulation therapy
- Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds
