Occupational Therapist - Medical

Job Summary
Assesses patients, develops and initiates occupational therapy treatment plans based on evaluation results; provides direct patient care and documents findings, progress, and instruction to patients and caregivers. May assist Level II or III OTs and leadership with program development; supervises COTA's and Rehab Technicians regarding individual patient care; conducts periodic evaluation of patient progress and adjusts goals and plans accordingly. Delivers OT treatment, demonstrates basic OT skills, and may serve as clinical instructor for OT/OTA interns. Communicates effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurance providers; presents topics at clinic meetings and rounds; manages time, documentation, and departmental responsibilities; supports ongoing professional growth and education; upholds Memorial Hermann service standards through compassionate, personalized, and efficient care. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current or temporary Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners
- Current certification in Basic Life Support
- Ability to lift 75-100 pounds occasionally/frequently; stand/walk; manual dexterity; strong communication skills; ability to monitor instruments and diagnose alphanumeric data
