Job Summary
Occupational Therapist in Long Term Care provides initial evaluations, develops and implements treatment plans with short- and long-term goals, documents progress and discharge status, and coordinates care with other health professionals. Responsibilities include counseling families, supervising/new personnel, and conducting in-service training. Requires strong evaluation skills, attention to detail, and compassionate, patient-focused care for a frail elderly population; effective communication and collaboration with the care team are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 3-6 months of previous experience preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Evaluation & Development responsibilities including initial evaluation and treatment plan development
- Documentation of patient evaluation, treatment, progress and discharge status
- Supervision and guidance of new personnel, assistants, students and volunteers as assigned
