Job Summary
Occupational Therapist – in-home services for children from birth to age three. Responsibilities include assessing developmental skills, collecting information from case history and observations, interpreting evaluation results to form diagnostic impressions and recommendations, implementing intervention plans for children with developmental delays or certain medical conditions, scheduling and prioritizing direct and indirect service activities (some visits may be via telehealth), and ensuring services begin within required timelines. The role involves direct services to children and families in their homes, daycares, or other natural environments, coordination with families, physicians, and other agency staff, and serving as the Service Coordinator for assigned clients. Additional duties include documentation, completing required paperwork, referrals to related services, participating in training and educational material development, and maintaining professional conduct in line with ethics and policies. Qualifications emphasize a Bachelor’s in OT, Texas licensure, a willingness to travel in the local area, CEUs, and a minimum of three years of OT experience (including at least one year with infants). The position is full-time with a flexible schedule and agency-sponsored benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- Occupational Therapy License for Texas required
- Willing to drive 75% in and around Liberty/Kingwood/Porter and surrounding areas
- Continuing Education Units (preferably in topics relating to the Birth to Three population)
- Minimum of three years' experience in occupational therapy, and at least one year of experience with infant population
- Highly effective communication skills including listening, speaking, nonverbal communication, computer skills and writing skills
