Job Summary
Organize and conduct occupational therapy programs nationwide for 13-week assignments, directing patient participation to restore functional performance and correct pathology. Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel while adhering to state licensure requirements and professional standards. Screen, examine, and evaluate patients to establish diagnoses, identify impairments, and design individualized treatment plans covering cognitive skills, mobility, and adaptive device application. Implement therapeutic regimens, modify plans based on patient progress, and ensure timely documentation of all services. Maintain a safe environment by enforcing safety protocols, ordering supplies, and reporting equipment needs. Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to address comprehensive patient needs and facilitate learning essential for adaptation and productivity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards
- initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- a valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice
- Must be available to travel to and temporarily reside in locations outside of the therapist's primary home
