Job Summary
Organize and conduct occupational therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation, directing patient participation in tasks that restore performance and enhance adaptation. Screen, examine, and evaluate patients to establish diagnoses, identify impairments, and design individualized treatment plans covering cognitive skills, mobility, and activities of daily living. Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and support personnel while adapting the plan of care to meet specific patient needs. Make referrals to other disciplines, consult with the rehabilitation team, and ensure adherence to safety standards and documentation requirements. Travel nationwide for 13-week assignments across skilled nursing centers, clinics, and home-based care settings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards
- initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice
- Must be available to travel to and temporarily reside in locations outside of the therapist's primary home
