Job Summary
Organize and conduct occupational therapy programs nationwide for 13-week assignments, directing patient participation to restore and enhance performance while diminishing pathology. Screen, examine, and evaluate patients to establish diagnoses, design treatment plans, and implement therapeutic techniques addressing cognitive skills, mobility, and activities of daily living. Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, students, and support personnel; adapt care plans based on individual needs; and ensure safe environments by enforcing hazard elimination and maintaining equipment. Make referrals to other disciplines and contribute to staffing conferences to address comprehensive patient needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards
- initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- a valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice
- Must be available to travel to and temporarily reside in locations outside of the therapist's primary home
