Job Summary
Organize and conduct occupational therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation, directing patient participation in tasks to restore performance and correct pathology. Screen, examine, and evaluate patients to establish diagnoses, develop treatment goals, and implement plans covering cognitive skills, mobility, and activities of daily living. Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and students while adapting care plans based on individual needs. Make referrals to other disciplines, consult with the rehabilitation team, and ensure a safe environment by enforcing safety protocols. Order supplies, maintain equipment, and document all services effectively. Travel nationwide for 13-week assignments across skilled nursing centers, assisted living facilities, and home-based care.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards
- initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- a valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice
- Must be available to travel to and temporarily reside in locations outside of the therapist's primary home
