Job Summary
The Occupational Therapist — Journey Traveler travels nationwide for 13-week assignments, organizing and conducting occupational therapy programs across diverse settings to restore and enhance patient performance. Responsibilities include supervising OTAs and students as appropriate, delivering rehab services per plan of care, coordinating with the rehab team, arranging referrals, adapting plans to patient needs, ensuring a safe environment, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, documenting services, and implementing therapy across cognitive, motor, endurance, mobility, ADLs, and other domains. The role also involves fabricating and training in adaptive devices (orthotics/prosthetics), selecting age- and capacity-appropriate activities, instructing patients in functional activities, re-examining progress, and performing additional related duties. Qualifications require ACOTE-accredited OT degree, initial NBCOT registration, and active OT licensure in the state of practice; travel availability is mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from ACOTE-accredited program
- Initial registration with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Valid and unencumbered OT license as required in the practicing state
- Ability to travel nationwide and reside temporarily in locations outside primary home
