Job Summary
Screen, test, evaluate, diagnose, and treat injuries, diseases, and disabilities using occupational therapy procedures and modalities. Consult, educate, and train patients, families, and caregivers while collaborating with care teams to deliver patient-centered care. Conduct evaluations and treatments according to professional standards, develop care plans with specific goals, and manage all aspects of patient care including supervising assistants, aides, and students. Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers, maintain thorough patient records, and complete billing accurately. Participate in patient care conferences, interdisciplinary meetings, and quality improvement processes, while contributing to program development and marketing strategies. Work 30 hours per week at St. Marys Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Required Qualifications
- Current Occupational Therapist license in states where you work.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Current driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
- Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
- Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.).
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
