Job Summary
Screen, test, evaluate, diagnose, and treat injuries, diseases, and disabilities using occupational therapy procedures and modalities. Consult, educate, and train patients, families, and caregivers while collaborating with care teams to deliver patient-centered care. Develop care plans with specific goals based on patient assessments and conduct evaluations according to professional standards. Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers about needs and goals. Manage all aspects of patient care and education, including supervising assistants, aides, office staff, and students. Participate in patient care conferences, interdisciplinary meetings, and staff meetings. Engage in quality improvement processes and utilization review audits. Contribute to program development and marketing strategies to achieve department goals. Maintain thorough patient records and complete billing accurately. Promote continuing education opportunities for self and staff. Work 30 hours per week at St. Marys Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Required Qualifications
- Current Occupational Therapist license in states where you work.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Current driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
- Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
- Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.).
- Expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
