Job Summary
Screen, test, evaluate, diagnose, and treat injuries, diseases, and disabilities using occupational therapy procedures and modalities in accordance with standard practices. Consult, educate, and train patients, families, and caregivers while collaborating with care teams to deliver patient-centered care. Conduct evaluations and treatments based on professional standards, develop care plans with specific goals, and supervise assistants, aides, office staff, and students. Maintain thorough patient records, complete billing accurately, and participate in interdisciplinary meetings, quality improvement processes, and utilization review audits. Contribute to program development and marketing strategies to achieve department goals.
Required Qualifications
- Current Occupational Therapist license in states where you work.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Current driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
- Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
- Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.).
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Possess skill sets and experience with target population of job setting.
