Job Summary
Provide occupational therapy to patients unable to perform daily tasks due to illness or injury by assessing deficits, establishing goals, and documenting progress. Assist patients with exercises to improve fine motor skills and coordination while suggesting adaptive equipment like grab bars and shower chairs. Evaluate fall risks and introduce strategies to improve home safety, then educate patients and families on the plan of care, exercises, and self-care techniques. Work as part of a home health team including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, PTs, and SLPs focused on the patient's plan of care and personal goals. Requires a Michigan OT license, one year of experience, CPR certification, and knowledge of state and federal home health regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program
- Active OT license in Michigan
- Minimum of 1 year of occupational therapy experience
- CPR certification
- Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations
- Good clinical judgement
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Resourceful
- Compassionate
