Job Summary
Provide evaluations to determine patient needs, goals, and functional capabilities; develop individualized OT treatment plans addressing ADLs/IADLs, strength, coordination, cognition, and functional mobility; fabricate or recommend adaptive equipment and train patients/caregivers; document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries; collaborate with the healthcare team; supervise and mentor COTAs; educate patients and families on home programs and safety practices; participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives; engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program (or anticipated graduation)
- Current South Dakota OT license or eligibility upon graduation
- Strong clinical reasoning and evaluation skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to patient-centered care and functional outcomes
- Experience in rural healthcare or interest in serving rural communities
- Ability to effectively supervise, mentor, and collaborate with Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs)
- Strong documentation and time-management skills
- Willingness to work as part of a team
