Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and interpret findings to develop individualized treatment plans and goals. Implement occupational therapy programs, perform basic treatments, and monitor progress to adjust care as needed. Supervise assistants and rehabilitation technicians regarding individual patient care treatments. Document findings, progress, and instructions for patients and caregivers accurately. Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurance companies. Provide training and guidance to students, interns, and other staff as a clinical instructor or mentor. Manage time effectively while ensuring safe care and adhering to all policies and standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university-based Occupational Therapy program
- Current or temporary License to practice Occupational Therapy by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners
- Current certification in Basic Life Support
- Ability to lift up to 75-100 pounds
- Ability to carry up to 30 pounds
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to walk frequently
- Ability to stoop and squat frequently
- Fine hand dexterity
- Eye-hand coordination
- Ability to receive oral and written communication
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Visual ability to monitor instruments, computers and equipment
- Ability to recognize alphanumeric characters
- Ability to distinguish colors
- Ability to observe physical characteristics
