Job Summary
Evaluate and treat patients of all ages by performing examinations, screening for therapy needs, and designing plans of care that integrate goals, treatment, and discharge strategies. Demonstrate safe body mechanics during patient transfers from bed, chair, and floor while educating patients, families, and students on functional interventions. Collaborate with the medical team to communicate patient status, activity recommendations, and equipment needs, and provide supervision to COTA and rehabilitation technicians. Document evaluations and care modifications according to department policy and regulatory standards. Complete annual education for the DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Occupational Therapy
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Attend and satisfactorily complete all required continuing education regarding the care of acute stroke patients
