Job Summary

Confirm and interpret physician referrals for Occupational Therapy Services, consulting as needed for clarification. Administer and document evaluation and treatment plans with regular reassessments, while documenting daily progress notes and discharge summaries. Perform patient treatment of the assigned caseload per the treatment plan, utilizing clinical judgment within the scope of practice. Re-evaluate and adjust treatment plans and goals on an ongoing basis, and instruct patients and caregivers regarding safety issues and Home Exercise Programs. Requires licensure by the South Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy, BLS certification, and a master's degree with one year of experience. Scheduled for 40 weekly hours.

Required Qualifications

  • licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the South Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy
  • registration with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Bachelor or master's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • one year of experience as an occupational therapist
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted
  • Ability to lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force
  • Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes
  • Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance
  • Ability to match or discriminate between colors
  • Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception
  • Good peripheral vision capabilities
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
  • Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions
  • Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function
  • Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required
