Job Summary
Evaluate patients' functional status, home environments, and equipment needs to develop total plans of care. Create treatment programs with established goals, teach new skills, and instruct patients on adaptive equipment, splints, prosthetics, and orthotics. Fabricate splints when necessary and supervise certified occupational therapy assistants and home health aides. Maintain clinical records, communicate with physicians and other personnel for coordinated care, and participate in case conferences. Identify needs for additional home health services and refer appropriately. Conduct discharge planning and ensure adherence to state practice acts and service agreements.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Two years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills
- Possess and maintains current CPR Certification
- Licensed driver with automobile that is in good working order and insured in accordance with the organization requirements
- Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work
