Job Summary
Conduct occupational therapy services in the home as prescribed by physicians, assistants, or nurse practitioners, including regular OASIS assessments, diagnostic testing of muscle and joint function, and evaluation of equipment needs. Instruct patients and families on device care and the total therapy program while supervising assigned home health aides and COTAs. Observe and record clinical findings, report patient reactions and condition changes, and participate in discharge planning and QAPI programs. Maintain HIPAA compliance and adhere to physical requirements for patient transfers and mobility.
Required Qualifications
- graduate of an approved school of Occupational therapist
- currently licensed and registered in this state license for Occupational Therapist
- at least one year of experience in occupational therapy
- Able to speak, read and write in English
- Able to read assignments, and follow directions
- Able to communicate and respond clearly on the telephone and respond to patients' spoken needs
- The ability to physically transfer, lift or assist patients whose average weight is 160 lbs with or without the aid of mechanical devices
- Able to spend 80% of the work standing and/ or moving about
- Able to walk, climb stairs, stoop, twist, bend and squat to perform essential job functions
- Is a graduate of an Occupational Therapy school approved by the Council of Medical Education of the AMA in collaboration with the National Boards of Physical Therapists or its equivalent
- Is licensed to practice in the State of Florida
- Has a minimum of one (1) year experience as an Occupational Therapist
- Meets the health and physical requirements of the Home Health Care Agency
