Job Summary
Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate programs for clients with musculoskeletal disorders in hospital programs, including transitional care interventions. Collaborate with the treatment team toward discharge planning while educating clients, families, and staff regarding preventative health care. Direct the daily activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students, and interns as required. Participate in profession-specific and interprofessional activities to support the Sunnybrook Occupational Therapy service and the Department of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto. Practice in accordance with COTO standards within a team-oriented clinical environment offering acute inpatient, transitional care, short-term rehabilitation, and outpatient services.
Required Qualifications
- Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- Membership in CAOT and/or OSOT
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the areas of musculoskeletal dysfunction (in particular treating patients who undergo hip and knee arthroplasty)
- Experience in geriatric rehabilitation
- Experience in cognitive and psychosocial assessment and treatment skills
- Commitment to clinical excellence and use of best practices
- Demonstrated commitment to Patient-Centred Care concept and principles
- Ability to demonstrate reflective practice
