Job Summary
Conduct screenings, formal and informal evaluations, and write reports for K-12 students enrolled in Connections Academy virtual public schools. Deliver direct occupational therapy services via webcams and web conferencing while managing caseloads through the company's Education Management System. Serve as an IEP team member to attend meetings, submit paperwork, and coordinate specially designed instruction with teachers and parents. Maintain accurate data in special education software and log all interactions adhering to Medicaid guidelines. Obtain and maintain required state licenses and clearances for Occupational Therapy.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from a ACOTE accredited institution
- NBCOT Certification
- Valid Board and/or Department of Education License for Occupational Therapy for your state of residence and the state you will be assigned to work in
- Ability to obtain and maintain multiple required state certifications and clearances as assigned
- 2+ years' experience in K-12 school setting
- Strong technology skills
- High degree of flexibility and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Flexibility in work hours (but they must be during school hours – from 8 am to 8 pm) and they could change with caseload assignments and student location
- Conduct evaluations from an approved list of evidence-based, normed assessments
