Job Summary
Occupational Therapist conducts evaluation and treatment of residents to determine OT needs and rehabilitation potential; develops and updates individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and ADLs; trains Restorative Aides, supervises COTA and aides, communicates progress to physicians and families, participates in care conferences, and ensures compliant documentation and safe treatment environment. Proficiencies include interpreting policies, using Net Health/Point Click Care, and providing in-services; requires state licensure and ongoing CEU maintenance; physical demands include frequent standing/walking and lifting residents/equipment; the role emphasizes collaboration across interdisciplinary teams and facility rehabilitation program development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state
- Continuing education requirements per state practices
- CPR certification if required by licensure
- Proficiency with Net Health and Point Click Care
- Ability to supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA), aides, and students
- Ability to communicate with physicians, nursing staff, residents, families, and team members
