Job Summary
Confirm and interpret physician referrals, perform patient assessments, and implement individualized treatment programs for homecare patients based on developmental age and medical diagnoses. Coordinate clinical activities through communication with patients, families, therapists, and physicians while documenting care in medical records. Supervise Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants and collaborate with support staff to achieve quality patient care outcomes. Perform physical activities including lifting and manipulating patients, and work at patient homes or other Carilion facilities as needed. Requires Virginia licensure, BLS certification, and one year of clinical experience for home health positions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited occupational therapy program
- Licensed to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- AHA BLS-certified (from a Carilion approved program) within six months of employment
- One year of clinical experience
- Effective interpersonal, communication, customer service and teamwork skills
- Must be able to lift, manipulate, push, pull, bend, and walk with patients
- Must be available for travel to other Carilion facilities to meet staffing needs
- Must be able to provide own transportation when working at other Carilion facilities
- Must be able to work in a Drug-Free Workplace
- Must agree to E-Verify compliance
