Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations, testing, and treatments for patients with complex medical and surgical conditions. Educate patients and families on tailored needs while developing individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to set patient goals, participate in conferences, and assist in post-discharge planning. Serve as a Clinical Instructor for entry-level and long-term students, mentor staff, and assist with new staff orientation. Maintain compliance with infection control protocols, document care details, and manage equipment inventory. This role is for late joint surgeries with acute care experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association
- At least one year of clinical experience as an occupational therapist
- A valid, unencumbered Occupational Therapist License approved by Georgia Board of Occupational Therapy
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Must maintain their certification with NBCOT
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs
- Must be able to carry objects up to 25 lbs
- Must be able to stand and walk occasionally to frequently
- Must be able to sit occasionally
- Must be able to perform close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
- Must be able to work with Blood-borne pathogen exposure
- Must be able to work with Bio-hazardous waste chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors
- Must be able to work with Communicable diseases
- Must be able to work with Electrical shock
- Must be able to work with Floor Surfaces
- Must be able to work with Hot/Cold Temperatures
- Must be able to work with Indoor/Outdoor conditions
- Must be able to work with Latex
- Must be able to work with Lighting
- Must be able to work with Patient care/handling injuries
- Must be able to work with Radiation
- Must be able to work with Shift work
- Must be able to travel
- Must be able to use personal protective equipment, including respirators
