Job Summary
Initiate skilled occupational therapy treatments per physician orders and maintain required contact with medical staff. Maintain written evaluations, progress notes, MDS records, and discharge summaries while recording and updating individual care plans. Confer with interdisciplinary health care teams to enhance rehabilitation and provide input for care planning meetings. Submit supply requisitions to the Director of Occupational Therapy and assume supervision duties for COTA's and aides during director absences. This full-time role supports geriatric and subacute residents in restoring independence, offering competitive pay from $33.00 to $44.86 per hour with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Active, state-specific Occupational Therapist license
- Graduation from an approved school of occupational therapy
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
- Current, valid CPR/BLS credential
- Sense of responsibility and ability to work well with residents, families, and other staff members
- Qualities of maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work well with others
- Ability to work with geriatric and chronically ill residents, as well as other professionals in a friendly and helpful manner
- Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
Desired Qualifications
- Two years' experience in occupational therapy
- Interest in occupational therapy treatment programs for the geriatric and subacute populations utilizing a team approach
- Ability to direct others necessary
