Job Summary
Occupational Therapist providing school-based OT services to students in Dickenson County Public Schools. Responsible for implementing students’ plans of care, conducting evaluations (including fine motor, visual perception, perceptual motor, range of motion, and activities of daily living tasks), writing progress notes and parent communications, participating in IEP conferences, training students in adaptive equipment and assistive technology, and instructing staff on setup and positioning for classroom and lunchroom tasks. Includes preparation of school-based OT intervention materials, travel to school buildings and professional meetings, and collaboration with teachers, staff, and families. Requires licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapist; prior pediatric/educational experience is a plus. Demonstrates excellent communication and computer skills, professional leadership qualities, and the ability to make independent decisions within established policies and procedures.
