Job Summary
Conduct patient and client assessments, develop quantifiable plans of care with physical and functional targets, and deliver occupational therapy services for injury prevention, rehabilitation, and health promotion. Provide instructions, manage patient scheduling, and supervise delegated tasks while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including HIPAA and the Comprehensive Compliance Plan. Cultivate the clinic's occupational therapy program by identifying needs, developing training initiatives for families and the community, and collaborating with physician offices to ensure quality of care. Uphold facility values and complete required professional development and EHS duties.
Required Qualifications
- A graduate of a certified Occupational Therapy Program approved by the Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners
- A person licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in Texas
- A person who demonstrates the physical and mental capabilities (practical &/or written, post-training competency test) to perform the duties required of the position
- A person who can meet the physical demand level of the position
- Requires manual dexterity and general strength and endurance
- Lifting routinely loads of 5-35 pounds from: Floor to waist, Waist to shoulder, Shoulder to overhead
- Carrying loads of 5-10# for 40-50
- Pushing loads of 5-150# on casters, runners, or pulleys
- Sustaining a grip for 1-2 minutes of 40-50#
- Guarding a lift load routinely of 120-140#
- Sitting for uninterrupted periods of 30-45 minutes
- Has the potential for Hazardous Substance Exposure due to work duties
- Has the potential for Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure due to work duties
- Has been determined as eligible for access to/use of PHI & EPHI based on work duties and responsibilities in compliance with minimal necessary standards
