Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans based on physical, cognitive, and developmental assessments. Implement advanced occupational therapy treatments while periodically assessing progress to adjust goals and programs. Supervise assigned personnel and staff, providing mentorship to students and volunteers, and lead departmental committees and taskforces. Document findings, progress, and instructions accurately in medical records and communicate effectively with physicians, insurance companies, and caregivers. Identify needs for new or revised departmental programs and assist with strategic planning, budgets, and policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or graduate degree in occupational therapy from an accredited university-based occupational therapy program
- Current License to practice Occupational Therapy by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners
- Current Certification in Basic Life Support
- At least five (5) years of clinical experience or four (4) years of clinical experience, with the completion of an accredited residency or fellowship program
- Ability to lift up to 75-100 pounds and carry up to 30 pounds
- Fine hand dexterity
- Eye-hand coordination
- Ability to receive oral and written communication
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Visual ability to monitor instruments, computers and equipment
- Ability to recognize alphanumeric characters
- Ability to distinguish colors
- Ability to observe physical characteristics

- Advanced Education or clinical certification
