Job Summary
Perform evaluations and develop treatment plans for patients with neurological diagnoses, then regularly re-assess effectiveness and conduct discharge evaluations to recommend home and community safety resources. Manage a 40-hour caseload of 5–7 patients weekly, delivering 1:1 therapy in homes and community settings while collaborating with physicians, family members, and interdisciplinary specialists to coordinate care. Communicate patient progress and needs through documentation and family conferences, ensuring continuity from evaluation through discharge. Requires an unrestricted state license, one year of OT experience, and ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from a college or university with an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Current, unrestricted license as an Occupational Therapist by state in which practicing
- Current CPR Certification
- A minimum of one year's work experience as an Occupational Therapist
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Moving, lifting, or transferring of patients which may involve lifting of up to 100 pounds following safety procedures
- Duties require fine motor skills, visual acuity, and walking/ standing for extended periods
- Additional physical requirements include: pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and positioning frequently at times
- A health screen or examination may be required prior to assignment and periodically thereafter, depending on specific location policy, local and state regulations to verify employee is physically capable of performing assigned duties with or without reasonable accommodations
- Comfortable with a 40-hour salaried caseload, typically 5–7 patients per week (most often 5 patients receiving approximately 6 hours of treatment each)
- No Weekend Shifts
